Fingerprint Jewellery

How is my loved one’s fingerprint captured?

Once your order is placed, a very simple to use fingerprint impression kit will be dispatched to you.  The kit contains easy to follow instructions and return address details together with an information sheet so that the prints can be identified and matched with your order.  Sufficient material will be dispatched to fulfil your order.

Can I use a fingerprint that I have taken myself?

It depends on the material used and detail captured?  We recommend that the Precious Touch kit is used where possible but if you have a print that you would like to use, please call Gail on 0414 604 622 to discuss.

Hand and Footprint Jewellery

How is my loved one’s hand/footprint captured?

Once your order is received, a hand and footprint kit will be dispatched on the same day.  The kit consists of gentle, non toxic inkless wipes together with special card that reacts with the oil in the wipes to create the hand/footprint image. The kit comes with full instructions as well as return address details.

Can I use a hand/footprint that I already have?

The prints that you have can be scanned and emailed to  Please give your name and address details when sending through these images so that they can be matched with your order.

How long after ordering is the fingerprint kit or hand and footprint kit dispatched?

The kit will be dispatched to you on the same day as your order is received.

What happens if I’m not happy with the print I’ve taken?

The material sent to you in the fingerprint impression kit can be re-used as many times as necessary to capture a print that you are happy with and the instructions accompanying the kit will explain this fully.  In the case of hand and footprints, 2 cards and 2 inkless wipes are sent to enable you to take many different prints and the best ones are used to make your jewellery.

How long does it take before I receive my jewellery?

Once your loved one’s prints have been received by Precious Touch, it takes approximately 3 weeks until delivery.

Can this process be accelerated?

We always try to meet special circumstance deadlines.  If you require your jewellery urgently to meet a special occasion deadline, please call us on 0414 604 622 and we will do everything possible to accelerate your order.

Can I put a name and DOB on the back of the piece?

Yes, names can be added to the front of most pendants (some designs don’t lend themselves well to this) and in all cases, names and DOB can be added to the back at no extra charge.

Can small babies be fingerprinted?

Yes, although we do suggest waiting until your baby is at least 3 months old before taking the impressions as detail is often difficult to see when taken on such small fingers.  Hand and footprints imressions can be taken from birth onwards.

Can adult fingerprints be taken?

Absolutely. Jewellery can be made with the fingerprints of people of any age.  If the fingerprint size exceeds the area available on the pendant, then the most detailed and unique part of your loved one’s fingerprint is used.

Is the jewellery gift wrapped?

Yes, all pieces come beautifully packaged and gift wrapped to ensure that the experience of receiving your unique piece is particularly special.

Can the kit and jewellery be sent to a different address?

Yes, if you would like the kit and jewellery to be sent to an address other than your own, please indicate the name and address of the recipient in the comments box at checkout.

How do I care for my Jewellery?

Your jewellery is made from pure silver (99.9% silver) and sterling silver (92.5% silver) and, as is the nature of silver, can tarnish if in constant contact with chemicals ie. perfume, sunscreen, soap etc. The good news is that your special piece can always be made as good as new using a good quality silver cleaner – we recommend Silvo which is available in most supermarkets/hardware stores. For a lighter clean, a silver polish cloth will brighten your special piece giving it that brand new shine.
